Polygenic risk score may help determine risk of developing multiple sclerosis

A new study indicates that a polygenic risk score (PRS) could help identify patients at risk of developing multiple sclerosis (MS).

According to Dr Hengameh Shams of the University of California San Francisco in San Francisco, USA, polygenic risk profiling can help characterize the genetics of complex disorders like MS. It can also help predict an individual’s likelihood of developing MS and future disease severity.
